Gill, who joined the Titans from their first season, needed 12 runs in his team’s third match of the 19th season against the Delhi Capitals to join the 2500-run elite club, and he achieved the task without any difficulty.
The right-handed batter has been one of the top performers for Gujarat in recent years and played a key role in their dominance. He scored 70 runs off 45 balls against the Axar Patel-led team to take the franchise’s score to 210 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. He smashed 5 sixes and 4 boundaries, with his runs coming at a strike rate of 155.55.
With the Titans struggling in IPL 2026, their captain showed his class in the middle. GT have lost two consecutive matches, and they felt Gill’s absence in the previous match against the Rajasthan Royals. Shubman was ruled out due to muscle spasm but returned for the DC clash.
