KL Rahul joins elite 700-four club in T20 cricket

India and Delhi Capitals batter KL Rahul scripted another record, completing 700 boundaries in T20 cricket. The right-handed batter reached the milestone in DC’s IPL 2026 match against the Gujarat Titans at the  Arun Jaitley Stadium. Rahul is the 11th Indian batter to reach the 700-mark in the shortest format of the game.

Rahul, who played his first T20 match in 2013, has been a part of several franchises in the cash-rich league. He has smashed 450 fours in the IPL, with 191 boundaries coming for the Indian National Cricket Team in T20Is.

KL Rahul was five boundaries short before the game against the Titans, and he completed the task with ease. According to ESPNcricinfo, Rahul is among the 11 players who have recorded 450-plus fours in the league. Virat Kohli, who plays for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, leads the list, having smashed 778 fours.

Meanwhile, GT posted 210 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs. Shubman Gill (70), Washington Sundar (55) and Jos Buttler (52) hit fifties for the visiting franchise.

Chasing 211, DC openers Pathum Nissanka and Rahul added 76 runs for the first wicket, with the latter completing a well-compiled fifty.

Rahul failed to get going in the first two games of the 19th season of the tournament, but he returned to form against the Gill’s team.
