While chasing a target of 182 runs, LSG had lost 7 wickets at a score of 128. At that point, no one expected Lucknow to win from there, but Mukul Chaudhary did not give up.
Mukul, who was playing on 2 runs off 8 balls, then played such a blistering innings that LSG won the match by 3 wickets. Mukul Chaudhary scored 54 runs off 27 balls with the help of 7 sixes. He was awarded the Player of the Match for this innings. During this, he shared his story.
He revealed how his cricket journey had started even before he was born. He said that it was his father’s dream that his son would grow up to play cricket, but financial struggles tried to create obstacles in his journey to becoming a cricketer. However, Mukul’s father did not give up, and when Mukul was 12–13 years old, he sent him to a cricket academy.
Mukul learned the basics of cricket for 6 years at SBS Cricket Academy in Sikar. Initially, he trained as a medium-fast bowler. However, during a match, considering the team’s need, he took up the responsibility of wicketkeeping, and from there his career path changed. Inspired by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, he fully adopted the role of a wicketkeeper-batsman.
After that, he moved to Jaipur to give his dreams a new direction. Mukul practiced there for 4 years. Then his inclination towards T20 cricket increased rapidly. He felt he needed to play more matches, for which he moved to Delhi. He stayed in Gurgaon for 3–4 months and played matches in Delhi. As a result, it helped him improve his fast-paced style of cricket.
Mukul Chaudhary grabbed headlines with his explosive batting in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025–26. He scored 173 runs in the tournament at an average of over 57 and a strike rate of 198.85. Perhaps it was from there that LSG recognized his talent and bought him for 2 crore 60 lakh rupees, even though his base price was only 30 lakh rupees.
Mukul’s story teaches us that no matter how many hurdles come in your path, if you take a big leap, those hurdles will start to look small.
