First Padikkal and now Pandya: Hetmyer takes two stunning catches in RR vs RCB match

Shimron Hetmyer was a livewire on the field during the RCB vs RR match in the Indian Premier League 2026. He took two stunning catches of the Bengaluru batters to contribute to the fielding department. Devdutt Padikkal, the in-form batter, failed to time Jofra Archer’s delivery. The ball went high, and Hetmyer, who ran in from deep square, had to lunge forward to complete the catch. Padikkal scored 14 runs off 7 balls, with the help of three boundaries.

The second grab was also equally impressive. Krunal Pandya tried to take on spinner Ravi Bishnoi, but the connection was not up to the mark. Hetmyer timed his dive to perfection, and the white cherry went straight into his hands. Krunal faced 6 balls and scored just 1 run.

Phil Salt failed to open his account and was dismissed on the first delivery of the contest. Virat Kohli, who hit 7 boundaries, amassed 32 runs in 17 balls, but he couldn’t handle Bishnoi’s variation. He was clean bowled by Rajasthan’s slow bowler. Kohli was lucky to stay in the middle for sometime as several edges flew off his bat, but the fielders were not stationed in those areas.

RCB wicket-keeper batter Jitesh Sharma also disappointed, managing just 5 runs.

RCB and RR are the only two undefeated franchises in the 19th season of the league, with the former winning three successive games. Bengaluru have secured two wins from two matches so far.
