Rajasthan Royals played a perfect game against the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League 2026. After losing the toss in an 11-over per side match, the host franchise posted 150/3, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi doing the maximum damage. RR won the match by 27 runs.
Chasing 151, the five-time champions never threatened and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. They were restricted to 123/9 runs in their allotted 11 overs. Ryan Rickelton (8), Suryakumar Yadav (6) and Rohit Sharma (5) crumbled under pressure, and their chase never gained momentum. Hardik Pandya (9) and Tilak Varma (14) were also easily undone by RR bowlers.
Sherfane Rutherford (25 off 8) and Naman Dhir (25 off 13) hit fours and sixes, but their efforts were not enough in the end.
Jofra Archer (1 wicket), Nandre Burger (2 wickets), Tushar Deshpande (1 wicket), Ravi Bishnoi (2 wickets) and Sandeep Sharma (2 wickets) were impressive with the ball.
Earlier, the RR openers defied the weather and challenging conditions. Jaiswal scored an unbeaten 77 runs off 32 balls, laced with 10 fours and 2 sixes. His partner Sooryavanshi posted 39 runs off 14 deliveries, including 5 sixes and 1 four.
The two added 80 runs in 5 overs. Captain Riyan Parag contributed 20 runs in 10 balls, with the help of 2 maximums and 1 boundary.
AM Ghazanfar dismissed two batters while Shardul Thakur claimed one scalp. Surprisingly, Jasprit Bumrah conceded 32 runs from 3 overs and went wicketless.
With three wins from three matches, RR have climbed to the No.1 spot with 6 points. Mumbai have two points from three contests.
