Royal Challengers Bengaluru star Virat Kohli has showered praise on the film Dhurandhar: The Revenge during IPL 2026, applauding both the cast and the creative team. The experienced batter said the movie offered a cinematic experience he hadn’t witnessed before in India.
Kohli revealed that he was completely engaged from start to finish and credited director Aditya Dhar for his vision, even calling him a “genius.” He shared his thoughts via an Instagram story on Monday, April 6.
“Saw the film today and dare I say that I’ve never ever seen a cinematic experience like this made in India. It brought out every kind of emotion to the surface and I didn’t flinch once for almost 4 hours. @adityadharfilms your talent and conviction is reflected in what you’ve created. Hats off to you. You’re a genius”
He also singled out Ranveer Singh for his performance, praising the actor’s role in the action-packed thriller.
“And although all actors were great in their roles BUT @ranveersingh you have attained a different level after this movie and your performance was beyond brilliant. Absolutely WOW.”

Meanwhile, Kohli’s wife, Anushka Sharma, also seemed impressed and congratulated the director and the entire team on the film’s huge success.
Released on March 19, the sequel to Durandhar has been enjoying a massive run at the box office, reportedly collecting more than Rs 1,622.72 crore worldwide.

On the field, Kohli has made a strong start to IPL 2026. He remained unbeaten on 69 off 38 balls in the opening game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, guiding his team to a six-wicket win while chasing 202 in just 15.4 overs—the fastest successful 200-plus chase in IPL history.
In the next match, Bengaluru secured a 43-run victory over Chennai Super Kings after putting up an imposing 250/3. Kohli chipped in with 28 runs off 18 balls.
Following two home games, RCB will now travel for their first away fixture of the season, where they are set to take on Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati on April 10.
